Description
Louise Hill:"This print is very special to me, not least because I lived for many happy years in Hong Kong and fell in love with my adventurous life there. I guess you could say this print is my 'wish you were here' postcard with a nod to Southside and Stanley that features the essence of what makes Hong Kong so special.
The iconic skyline view is combined with several well-known and loved landmarks including the Peak Tram, beautiful Repulse Bay beach and Tin Hau, Hong Kong's beloved Goddess of the Sea. These are complimented by an assortment of boats and ferries bobbing gently in the waters of the South China Sea - all sitting alongside Stanley Pier and Ocean Park.
The print combines my own photography of this great city with vintage one-off finds. The beautiful green shrubbery has been created from a deconstructed vintage Chinese silk brocade and traditional silk buttons. The vibrant colours and detailing leave many elements to discover with each new viewing, and all combine to tell a story of the place I used to call home."
